Alia Arafeh, Class of 2026
Alia Arafeh is a senior at NYU, studying International Relations and double minoring in Economics and French. She joined NYU’s travel team during her sophomore year with no prior experience. Alia is originally from Los Gatos, California and she loves to thrift, watch movies, cook and bake, and look at architecture throughout New York City! Her favorite MUN memories include when she came back from London and everyone threw her a welcome back party and the numerous conferences she has staffed, including the past Empire MUNC where her committee had a rap battle, a wedding, and a private concert. Alia is honored to be taking on the role of directing this conference and is so beyond excited for everyone to come debate in the heart of New York City!
Jeremy Kim, Class of 2027
DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF OPERATIONS
Jeremy is currently a junior at NYU pursuing a BA in Public Policy and Politics. Jeremy joined NYU MUN during their freshman year and was immediately interested in the vibrant community, both in delegating and staffing conferences. Their favorite MUN memory is getting the late night munchies at a conference in DC with the Travel Team and going to a deli that they still think of fondly. In their free time, Jeremy loves to take photos of the NYC city-scape, read Han Kang novels, and watch Renaissance art in local Museums. They are beyond excited to help host this conference in the upcoming spring!

Jade Oquendo-Eisenhaur is a senior studying International Relations and Spanish at NYU’s College for Arts and Sciences. She began Model UN when she was in high school and she decided to join NYU’s Model UN team in her sophomore year. She has competed in several conferences including HNMUNC, HOPMUNC, and UNCMUNC and has loved building friendships along the way. Additionally, she has staffed multiple conferences at NYU and is excited about her role for NYUMUNC XVII! Jade loves to read thriller novels, watch Broadway plays in the heart of New York City, and ice skate! Jade’s fun facts are that she has swam in the Arctic Ocean and that she is a Lady in Ireland. Lady Jade can’t wait for NYUMUNC XVII!

Kiera Glazer, Class of 2027
Kiera is currently a junior, double majoring in Politics and American Studies in the College of Arts and Sciences at NYU. She first became involved with Model UN back in her freshman year when she was a crisis analyst for Empire MUNC. One of her favorite memories is acting out the various skits the backroom came up with during NYU MUNC 2024 in the Cold War JCC. Kiera loves to cook, read, and travel in her free time. She is beyond thrilled to help staff and contribute to creating an amazing conference in the spring!
Mario Castiel, Class of 2026
USG of Crisis
Mario Castiel is currently a senior at NYU majoring in Politics. Mario joined NYU’s Model UN team during his sophomore year in 2024 and is so grateful to have met so many amazing people since then. His favorite MUN memory is walking in the National Mall at night during his time at HOPMUNC in DC. Mario loves to cook in his free time and he has also taken advantage of the many study abroad sites that NYU has to offer, including Florence and Madrid, where he studied abroad for two years. Mario can not wait to be your USG of Crisis this upcoming spring!
USG of Joint-Crisis
Angelina Fang is currently a sophomore in the Liberal Studies program at NYU. She intends to transfer into a Biology major, with minors in Chemistry and Global Liberal Studies. Angelina has been involved with MUN since her freshman year of high school, having done MUN for almost 6 years now. Her favorite MUN memories are hanging out with the travel team after Monday night practices in Washington Square Park and eating KBBQ before leaving for &MUN last spring. Angelina especially values all the members on the MUN team who are smart, informed, and well rounded; they all challenge her to be the best version of herself. In her free, time Angelina loves to make tea, journal, and scrap-book!

Sahaana Venkat, Class of 2028
USG of Training
Sahaana is a current sophomore; she joined MUN when she was in eighth grade and has been involved ever since. In college, she joined NYU’s Model UN team during the fall of her freshman year and is now one of the team’s Head Delegates. Sahaana’s favorite MUN memory was when she was in the UPMUNC double del and got on Q&A, even though she had to memorize 50 clauses in an hour and a half, which she accomplished after camping out in the hallway! Additionally, Sahaana loves to read and dance in her free time, when she is not involved in Model UN; she is also awful at go karting. Sahaana Venkat is elated to get NYUMUNC up and running for the spring!

Yash Kashyap is a junior studying Biology with minors in Computer Science and Math. Yash joined NYU MUN during his sophomore year and cannot wait to assist with NYUMUNC this year as a part of directorate! He has many favorite memories while being involved with MUN but his best is probably Wednesday night trivia sessions with members of the team. In his free time Yash loves to draw and paint, and he loves bees. He is excited to get this conference up and running for the spring!

Christopher Gilmartin, Class of 2027
USG of Delegate Affairs
Chris is currently a junior studying Physics and Math at NYU’s College of Arts and Sciences. He is also minoring in Psychology and German.Chris joined NYU MUN’s travel team during his freshman year, but his favorite MUN memory would be in high school at FIMUN, where he tamed a Kraken in his crisis arc as Blackbeard. He cannot wait to help get NYUMUNC on its feet this spring!
Josha Roopnarine, Class of 2028
USG of Media & Events
Josha Roopnarine is currently a sophomore majoring in International Relations and Art History with a minor in Studio Art. Josha joined NYU MUN’s travel team last spring and is so excited to be a member of this directorate! Josha has loved meeting so many amazing people through Model UN, including some of his best friends. Some of his favorite memories are hanging out with his teammates at the various munctions, especially while traveling! In his free time Josha loves to draw and explore New York City. He has a love for shopping too, always looking for new clothes to add to his wardrobe. Josha cannot wait to work with so many amazing people to create a conference like no other in the spring!

Nari Kang is a sophomore majoring in Economics and minoring in Journalism and Business Studies. Nari joined NYU’s Model United Nations travel team last spring and is currently one of the team’s Deputy Delegates. Her favorite MUN memory has to be &MUN at William and Mary; she enjoyed a weekend full of heated debate and hanging out with so many of her great friends - she especially enjoyed sharing a bed with Josha! Nari is a part of NYU’s figure skating team and, in her free time, she loves to play scrabble, rhinestone various items (especially Sonny Angels), and rate her newest restaurants on beli. And, fun fact, Nari can officiate your wedding! She cannot wait to be one of your USGs of Logistics for the conference this spring!

Yetta is currently a junior studying History and Russian & Slavic Studies at NYU. Originally from Ohio, Yetta first got involved in MUN during her freshman year, where she became a member of the travel team in the spring. Her favorite MUN memory would be the time she travel to Emory University and had a weekend full of fun and heated debate! In her free time, Yetta loves to walk around New York City, read, and cook in her apartment. She is so excited about her role in directorate for the upcoming spring!
