Set in the universe of CDPR’s Cyberpunk 2077, Night City is one of the most dangerous places on the planet. With global warming driving millions into “megabuildings”, massive apartment complexes that are as cramped as they are destitute, people need to resort to desperate measures in order to survive. For some, this takes the form of scavenging, looting cybernetic enhancements off of unsuspecting citizens. For others, it means turning to the life of a solo or netrunner and taking odd jobs from fixers, Night City’s powerful and connected who have access to clients with the eddies they need. Now, following the death of Arasaka patriarch Saburo Arasaka and the death of Night City mayor Lucius Rhyne, Night City is on the verge of falling into even deeper chaos.

Street Side 

The majority of Night City’s gangs, streetkids, and nomads, the streets of Night City are antsy in the dawn of what could become the fifth corporate war. Solos, netrunners, and fixers alike are trying to not only make enough eddies to survive, but also to try and carve out their place in Night City. At the same time, the gang leaders of Night City still need to look out for their gangs, navigating the tension to earn eddies for their underlings. Can the streets of Night City earn enough money to survive without Arasaka throwing the city into a lockdown? With access to preem skills, connections to the heart of Night City, and ripperdocs chipping cybernetics like they’re going out of style, they might just have a chance. 

Arasaka Side

While the news thinks that the death of Saburo Arasaka was a massive blow to the reputation and future of Arasaka, for many within it their opportunity for advancement within the megacorporation has never looked brighter. The growing tension between Arasaka and the Streets of Night City poses an excellent opportunity to amass military power, deepen their already extensive control of the city, and to demonstrate value to the corporation they have dedicated their lives to. Alongside several high ranking Arasaka corpos, Arasaka’s collection of hired guns has recently grown in an attempt to win control of the city. Will Arasaka earn control of Night City? With trillions of eurodollars at their disposal, the undying loyalty of lower corpos, and access to the ever-shrinking ultra rich Arasaka’s victory may finally be at hand.

NYC democratic primary

New York City . . . the city of dreams. It is April 2025, just three months before the NYC Democratic Primary Elections. The outcome of this election will not only influence the election for mayor, but will also send shockwaves throughout the country.

President Trump wants to ensure his grasp over the city. He stalks every twist and turn of this election, even taking unprecedented measures to interfere. The fate of the democratic party is at stake due to a new face in politics and the forerunner . . . Zohran Mamdani, a self-identified Democratic Socialist, who has many democrats hesitant to endorse him. Yet he has already garnered huge swaths of support, as well as criticism.

He is met by two fierce opponents: former governor Andrew Cuomo, and current mayor, Eric Adams. Both of these politicians have had numerous scandals, but they do have crucial connections and knowledge in the political gears of NYC – something that Mamdani lacks.

Can the old timers hold on to their titles and power or will they be swept by this new face in politics? Who will win the race for NYC?
